WE used to listen to lady named Shiela Rushlow on KTRH in Houston, Texas. WE picked up the station on OUR small radio in Mission, Texas on the U.S./Mexico border. She would not tolerate racists. By Golly! She put bigots in their place. The early 1980s.
Then there was the legendary LARRY KING!
My brother and I were the only high school students that caught his radio program! He did not tolerate bigots either.
The late 1980s saw the radio aurwaves poisoned by hateful angry right-wing radio broadcasters!
Liberal Progressive talk radio could not compete!
Now comes along KBLA AM 1580 TALK RADIO! UNAPOLOGETICALLY PROGRESSIVE from Los Angeles, California!
Dialogue instead of diatribe! Reason rather than rage!
This station does not tell you what to think.
